Thomas Robertson is an accomplished technology and data leader with nearly two decades of experience driving modernization, governance, and transformation initiatives across federal agencies and the private sector. As Chief of Enterprise Data Stewardship and Governance at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), he leads a multidisciplinary team of experts in data analysis, engineering, and software development to ensure the agency’s data assets are accurate, accessible, and strategically aligned with federal mandates. His leadership promotes innovation and cross-agency collaboration, reinforcing a culture of data stewardship that advances mission-critical decision-making.

Before joining the FAA, Thomas served as a Management and Program Analyst at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he played a pivotal role in shaping enterprise records and information governance strategies. He led comprehensive policy reviews, streamlined procurement and onboarding processes, and developed frameworks for data and document lifecycle management—initiatives that enhanced operational efficiency and compliance across the organization.

Earlier, as Chief of IT Operations at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Thomas oversaw a multimillion-dollar IT budget and directed a diverse workforce spanning application development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure. Under his leadership, customer satisfaction rose from 70% to over 95%, disaster response readiness was strengthened through advanced continuity planning, and key modernization efforts—including the migration of legacy systems to cloud environments—delivered measurable cost savings and improved performance.

Thomas’s distinguished federal career was built upon a foundation of technical and operational excellence at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and Baylor Scott & White Health, where he held senior IT leadership roles. His strategic approach to enterprise architecture, configuration management, and data-driven process improvement has consistently resulted in stronger organizational resilience and mission effectiveness. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he began his career managing secure global communications networks supporting NATO and Department of Defense operations, where he honed his discipline, leadership, and systems expertise.

Thomas holds a Doctor of Business Administration (ABD) and a Master of Health Administration and Informatics from the University of Phoenix, along with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Macon State College. His career reflects a commitment to innovation, integrity, and public service—qualities that define his leadership and impact in advancing data and technology excellence in any organization.
